The New Jersey Healthy Homes Initiative, announced by Human Services Commissioner Sarah Adelman and Community Affairs Commissioner Jacquelyn A. Suárez, offers $95 million for developers to build up to 200 affordable housing units for NJ Family Care members. This initiative aims to provide stable housing for Medicaid recipients who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, addressing a key social determinant of health. Funded by the American Rescue Plan Act and the state’s Affordable Housing Trust Fund, this program supports both the construction and maintenance of these homes, promoting health and housing equity.
