Convening a task force on sustainable shelters with key government and private sector stakeholders to establish a more fair and sustainable system for funding shelters.
▶ INCLUSIVITY
Illuminating & funding unmet needs – advocating for shelter services for individuals who are medically fragile, deaf, LGTQIA+, etc.
▶ OPPORTUNITY
Developing sustainable leadership & advocacy opportunities and training for people with lived experience of homelessness.
▶ HEALTH
Bringing mental health & addiction resources onsite at shelters.
Expanding code blue (winter sheltering) funds for extreme heat and all weather emergencies.
▶ HOUSING
Extending Housing Assistance Benefits to NJ residents with disabling conditions.
