Training Institute
Welcome!
We are pleased to introduce the Coalition’s new Training Institute!
Our Training Institute provides support and connection to valuable resources for our Shelter Providers’ Consortium members and beyond, especially during a time when funding and resources are scarce. The Training Institute’s mission is to act as a bridge between training opportunities and shelter locations, thereby closing the gap for shelters seeking cost-effective, high-quality training for their staff. Our vision is to be the go-to training support and resource library for all homeless shelters across New Jersey, and to set a standard of excellence for other coalitions and groups serving those experiencing homelessness nationally.
Our Training Institute believes that providing high quality training to staff working with individuals and families experiencing homelessness:
Improves the overall experience for those experiencing homelessness when they stay in a shelter
Helps staff feel more secure and supported in their positions, supporting lower staff turnover across organizations
Brings necessary information to all levels of staff, creating consistency in care

Current Training Offerings through NJCEH
KnowBe4 Cybersecurity training
The Training Institute's first project was to secure cost-effective, high quality cybersecurity training for our member shelters to have access to through the platform, KnowBe4. Not only do they offer fun and engaging content, but we were also able to negotiate a deal with KnowBe4 to provide access to their ongoing training for 500 of our shelters' staff members for a very low yearly cost of $8.50 per person. Because we have seen the damage firsthand that a lack of this type of valuable training can have on an organization, we are excited to share this opportunity with you.
