Thousands in D.C. are experiencing homelessness, with nearly 6,000 unhoused individuals, a number that has increased since last year. Ahead of the July Fourth holiday, officials will clear encampments in Northwest's Foggy Bottom neighborhood, but advocates argue that this displacement worsens homelessness and hinders outreach efforts.
