Millions Remain Unspent In Federal Funds For Homeless Students – And Time Is Running Out

Three years after federal aid was earmarked to ensure homeless students receive an education, millions remain unspent across the Midwest and the nation. With a looming September deadline, any unspent funds will return to the U.S. Treasury, despite the flexibility these funds offer for services like transportation, food, and emergency housing. Advocates and officials, like Missouri's state Rep.
