Building a Stronger Homeless Response Workforce
New Jersey’s homeless response system depends on a skilled and supported workforce. We equip frontline staff and leaders with the tools they need to respond effectively to growing and increasingly complex needs.
Training Academy
Frontline staff are navigating increasingly complex needs—mental health, substance use, and trauma—often without the training or support required to respond effectively. At the same time, the homeless services workforce remains under-resourced, with limited opportunities for professional growth and clear career pathways. Strengthening and professionalizing this workforce is essential to building a more effective, sustainable system.

NJCEH’s Training Academy provides high-quality, accessible professional development for frontline staff across New Jersey’s homeless response system. Through partnerships with leading subject matter experts, we offer trainings that are free or low-cost, ensuring providers across outreach, shelter, and housing programs can build the skills needed to respond to increasingly complex needs.
